What we collect
When you sign in, we collect the email address you sign in with. When you set up your profile, we collect your name, major, year, university, and anything you choose to add as a fun fact. We also store the content you create on Spora — posts, likes, club memberships, event RSVPs, follows, messages, and tickles (including any one-time secret message you attach to a tickle).
How we use it
We use this information to run Spora: showing your profile and posts to other students, matching you with clubs and events, delivering messages, and running the tickle leaderboard. Your profile, posts, club memberships, and public activity are visible to other signed-in users. Direct messages and tickle secret messages are only visible to their intended recipient — a tickle's secret message is permanently deleted from our database the moment the recipient views it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. Spora runs on a small set of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and, where enabled, PostHog (product analytics — page views and feature usage, not the content of your posts or messages). Each is bound by its own standard data-processing terms.
Security
Access to your data is enforced at the database level — every table has row-level security policies that restrict who can read or write what, rather than relying on the app alone to get it right.
Your choices
You can edit or remove most of your profile information at any time from the Edit Profile page. To request a full export or deletion of your account and associated data, email us at sporacampus@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes
Spora is early and this policy will evolve alongside it. If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date above.
